Notice of Changes to Kyoto City Accommodation Tax (Effective from March 1, 2026)

Hotel Granvia Kyoto (JR West Hotels) would like to thank you for your continued support. 

The accommodation tax rate for Kyoto City will be revised as follows, effective March 1, 2026. The revised tax rate will apply to stays on and after Sunday, March 1, 2026, regardless of the date on which the reservation was made. The accommodation tax is charged per person per night, based on the accommodation fee.

 

Revised Tax Rate [From Sunday, March 1, 2026]

Accommodation fee less than JPY 6,000: Tax JPY 200

Accommodation fee JPY 6,000 to less than JPY 20,000: Tax JPY 400

Accommodation fee JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: Tax JPY 1,000

Accommodation fee JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: Tax JPY 4,000

Accommodation fee JPY 100,000 or more: Tax JPY 10,000

 

Current Tax Rate [Until Saturday, February 28, 2026]

Accommodation fee less than JPY 20,000: Tax JPY 200

Accommodation fee JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: Tax JPY 500

Accommodation fee JPY 50,000 or more: Tax JPY 1,000

 

Please note:

- The accommodation tax is not included in the room charge and will be collected separately at the hotel.

- For the purpose of the accommodation tax, the accommodation fee does not include meal charges, consumption tax, or other such charges.

- For online reservations, room rates are displayed exclusive of accommodation tax.
