One of the hottest trends in Japan these days is
Cosplay (or Costume Play) inspired by the hugely popular Anime and Manga of Japan. Participants dress like specific characters and then join with a group of enthusiasts, all in costume, where they are encouraged to strut their stuff, completely in character.

At the Hotel Granvia Kyoto we are thrilled to offer our guests the chance to join the fun by becoming a Ninja warrior for a day. In full Ninja costume, guests will have their photos taken at the famed Samurai Movie Studios, the popular Nijo Castle and at several points in the city. Dressed in your Ninja garb, you’ll be taken through a downtown shopping mall where you can shop or just enjoy your ‘stardom’ as you make your way to the other main event of the day, a dinner at the newly opened, trendy Ninja Restaurant.

The hotel will prepare and arrange everything for you including your costume, private transportation with an English-speaking driver, a professional photographer, and your meal at the restaurant. It’s a totally unique experience that we will be happy to arrange completely for you.

Package Price:
Since the package price varies according to the the size of the party and the rate seasonality, following is a sample pricing for the standard program of:

• a party of 4 persons with 2 Superior rooms for 3 night stay during:
  SP Week: JPY19,250 / person / night; Shoulder season: JPY26,180 / person / night
• a party of 8 persons with 4 Superior rooms for 3 night stay during:
  SP Week: JPY16,830 / person / night; Shoulder season: JPY23,870 / person / night

• The program is available for groups of 2 to 8 people
• The cosplay package is only offered from Sunday thru Friday
• The price is including 10% service charge and 5% tax.

Program:
Above price of the Standard program includes:

• Accommodation with breakfast
• A Ninja costume for each participant (which is yours to keep!) including hood, mask, Jika-tabi footwear, and a plastic sword.
• An 8-seat van with an English-speaking driver from 13:00 – 17:15
• A professional photographer from 13:00 – 17:15; photo shots provided on a CD-Rom on the following date
• Admission to Toei Kyoto Movie Studios and Nijo Castle. On Mondays when Nijo Castle is closed, we will take photos at the scenic Arashiyama area. There may be additional, optional charges to enjoy some attractions such as the Ninja show at the movie studios. Your English-speaking driver will assist you.
• The Ninja-theme dinner course, Sasuke, at Ninja Kyoto restaurant ( http://www.ninja-kyoto.com/ ) will include: Shuriken Grissini with Foie Gras Terrine, Tomato Cappelini, Japanese style bouillabaisse, Chirashi-zushi (rice bowl with Sushi on top), the sweet of the day, and tea or coffee. Beverages are additional.

Itinerary details

Put on your Ninja costume in your room
(*The Ninja costume will be given to you upon check-in.

Costume Option: If you prefer, you can rent a female Ninja warrior costume or that of a Miko Shaman Woman. (see pictures) *Advance booking for these is necessary. (Please note that rental costumes must be returned after usage.)

13:00 Meet the driver & photographer at the hotel lobby and depart.
13:30 Arrive at Toei Kyoto Movie Studios
Enjoy having photos taken, seeing the famous Ninja show, attractions, shopping etc. Since this is a real Samurai movie studio, you may witness some movies being shot.

15:00 Leave the movie studio
15:30 Arrive at Nijo Castle
Once the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shogun. Enjoy the castle and the beautiful garden and have your photos taken in any number of ‘perfect’ spots.
17:00 Leave Nijo Castle
17:15 As you stroll this famed shopping street, you will draw the attention of other strollers, some of whom may ask you to pose for pictures with them.
18:30 Arrive at the Ninja Kyoto Restaurant
This trendy Ninja theme restaurant also has a thrilling labyrinth and Ninja shop, which you can enjoy before dining. Your driver leaves once he drops you off.

* Approx: 20:00: Return to the hotel. Return transportation will be at your own cost.
