Notice of New Charges Applied to Plastic Shopping Bags and Paper-made Carrier Bags

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Hotel Granvia Kyoto.
In accordance with an amendment (due to come into effect on Wednesday, July 1, 2020) to the ministerial ordinance related to the Act on the Promotion of Sorted Collection and Recycling of Containers and Packaging, shops that are managed by Hotel Granvia Kyoto will no longer distribute plastic shopping bags free of charge.
*Managed shops: A store that uses plastic shopping bags.

Starting on July 1 (Wed.), an additional fee will be charged for shopping bags.
■ Plastic shopping bags
¥5 per bag (incl. tax)

■ Paper-made carrier bags
¥10 per bag (incl. tax)
* If you purchase something as a gift, one paper-made carrier bag will be provided free of charge.

It is hoped that by charging for plastic shopping bags, we can encourage customers to bring their own reusable shopping bags and help protect the environment. We ask for your kind understanding and cooperation in this matter.
